The GAA has a number of action interactives in the Croke Park museum. These allow the visitor to practice various GAA skills and to measure their ability. One of these interactives allows the visitor to hit a sclitor at a target and the system measures the speed at which they hit the ball. One challenge for Fitting Image was to capture the action of the visitor at the moment when they hit the ball.
A still colour camera captures the images and loads them onto a computer database. These are then displayed in order on a monitor in reception and one on the exit stairs. The visitor can request to purchase a copy which can be accessed by the reception staff from a computer connected to the database server. This is not a traditional AV installation, but Fitting Image was up to the challenge.
